History

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) established the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science in the 2011–2012 academic session, recognizing the growing importance of sports, physical education, health, and fitness in national development. Since its inception, the department has been committed to producing qualified physical education teachers, coaches, sports scientists, and fitness professionals who contribute to both academic and practical fields.

The department started with a 4-year undergraduate program and later introduced a 1.5-year master’s program to meet the increasing demand for advanced knowledge and research in physical education and sports science. With its multidisciplinary curriculum spanning physical education, sports, health, and fitness, the department remains dedicated to preparing skilled professionals to serve national and global needs.
